Import/Export Assistant – Source Distribution

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading and highly respected industry distributor. Based in Sunbeam Road, London NW10 6JP, Source Distribution – a division of HHB Communications Ltd. – is looking for an Import/Export Assistant to support the Shipping Manager with administration tasks.

Role & Responsibility

Assist the Shipping Manager to handle imports and exports, including:

  • Liaise with external shipping and courier suppliers to monitor costs, negotiate quotes, and organise sea, air and road shipments and deliveries.
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with internal stakeholders, such as Warehouse, Purchasing, Sales and Accounts teams.
  • Consistently and accurately update and maintain company calendars and import and export logs.
  • Maintain a filing system for documentation such as certificates of shipment, customs documents, invoices, and certificates of origin.
  • Analyse and update Tariff/Commodity Codes in line with regulations.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments meet internal insurance criteria.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Must have a high level of import and export administrational knowledge, excellent communication skills and general commercial acumen.
  • Would understand Tariff/Commodity Codes for purposes of clearing of Importing / Exporting goods
  • Would have strong numeracy skills and an advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel and its capabilities.
  • Must be an outgoing and motivated self-starter able to work with minimal supervision and excellent attention to detail.
  • Would be keen and able to build relationships and negotiate with shipping companies and suppliers.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills required to deal with a variety of customers and colleagues.
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of audio and related technologies ideal but not essential.

Marketing Assistant – Source Distribution

Role & Responsibility

  • Ensure new and relevant product information is uploaded, updated, and maintained across internal documentation, digital platforms both internal and external.
  • Ensure UK dealer information is kept up to date on Source and Brand websites.
  • Manage marketing email inbox and provide point of contact for dealers, liaising with them to supply marketing assets and promotional items.
  • Assist with the composition of marketing mailouts to press and the dealer network, analysing open rates and following up with recipients to ensure information is received and tasks are being carried out.
  • Arrange loans of demo stock to appropriate media for review after launch and ensure loan stock is accounted for and returned in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update press contact list and distribute press releases to all industry and media contacts and publications.
  • Manage social media channels, promoting latest news and product details to improve audience engagement and grow social media followings.
  • Maintain flexibility to respond to respond to ad-hoc requests from the Marketing Manager on a day-to-day basis.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Must be comfortable with multitasking and have a strong eye for detail.
  • Someone knowledgeable and interested in music and pro-audio industry products.
  • Must be an outgoing and motivated self-starter comfortable with limited supervision.
  • Experience in music industry marketing and excellent relationship building skills would be beneficial.
  • Experience with Mailchimp, Social Media Administration and Adobe Creative Suite would be beneficial.

Warehouse & Logistics Manager

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading and highly respected pro audio technology distributor. Based in Sunbeam Road NW10 6JP, London, Source Distribution – a branch of HHB Communications Ltd. – is looking for a Warehouse & Logistics Manager to oversee the management of a busy 10,000 square foot warehouse facility.

This is a recently redefined role in which you will be responsible for overall management of the warehouse and warehouse team and the smooth processing of incoming and outgoing stock. A key aspect of the role will be to develop good relationships across the business and to define and implement new or amended processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency, accuracy and throughput.

Our ideal candidate will be a highly experienced and self-motivated individual with a proven track record in Warehouse & Logistics Management, and excellent skills in leadership, organisation, planning, team management and communication.

Role & Responsibility

  • Identify and implement operational efficiency improvements within the warehouse and in the interactions between the warehouse and other departments.
  • Develop relationships and liaise with internal stakeholders, such as Source Sales & Marketing, (and its Director), Order Fulfilment, Shipping & Exports, Brand Management, Amazon Coordination, HHB Operations, and Purchasing teams.
  • Confidently liaise and negotiate with external suppliers and transport companies to optimise the flow and management of goods-in and goods-out.
  • Project manage routine (rolling) stock takes and annual stock takes with subsequent reporting of anomalies, issues and resolutions to senior management.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Previous Warehouse & Logistics management experience and strong leadership skills to strategically plan, direct and manage the warehouse team.
  • A good grounding in Logistics and experience in managing multiple busy warehouse environments, including facilities and security management of warehouse premises, and implementation of international standards frameworks such as Information Security Management and Business Continuity.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, problem solving, and communication skills to deal effectively with all levels of management within the company and with customers, suppliers, dealers and shipping/delivery companies.
  • Understanding of and adherence to Health & Safety protocols and particular experience of manual handling guidance within a warehouse setting.
  • A dynamic, energetic individual who can work under pressure and lead from the front whilst also adopting a hands-on “get the job done” approach whenever required.
  • Ability to rapidly assimilate a comprehensive knowledge of the products we sell to enable constructive input to stock meetings, procurement planning activities and to manage stock takes.
  • Forklift License for counter-balance truck and a full, clean, manual, UK driving license would be beneficial.
