FlexSurface is a beautifully simple system that allows users to adjust every aspect of the Avid S6 control surface, for every session. Thoughtfully designed and engineered, FlexSurface offers greater flexibility in the control surface layout. Incorporating interchangeable ‘FlexAngle’ buckets with rear module angle adjustment, in conjunction with Soundz Fishy’s high quality desking, innovative accessories and rise and fall leg systems, FlexSurface is the ultimate in console design and functionality.
“FlexSurface was an idea born out of talking to a variety of engineers and facilities and learning how the studio console experience could be optimised,” comments Soundz Fishy founder, Glenn Haddock. “Our goal was to create a console which could be configured quickly and efficiently, whether it be a setup for an individual engineer or for client reviews, we wanted to provide a system that allowed for a seamless workflow in a studios day to day activities.”
Central to the system, is FlexAngle®, a 6-position, adjustable bucket that allows the angle of the rear modules to be altered from 2⁰ through to 35⁰ for maximum visibility. Clever design and engineering make it effortless for operators and technicians to configure the control surface in minutes. Simple fixings release the buckets from the console allowing the layout to be reconfigured while removable trims enable its individual modules to be rearranged. A range of module sized accessories are also available allowing non-Avid equipment to be integrated into your control surface.
Each element has been designed with ergonomics in mind. The layout can be reconfigured with moveable features that enable each operator to have the layout best suited to them. This system can accommodate a 5 or 9 knob channel strip configuration as well as multiple other module layouts. It ensures that controls and accessories are within easy reach, avoiding overstretching. The control surface can be rearranged to reduce the impact of stresses and strains on the body. With our rise and fall leg system, operators can alter their working position at the touch of a button providing maximum comfort during long sessions.
