Pro Tools 2024.10 Now Available

In this release Avid have once again worked on expanding the number of ARA 2 plugin support and have introduced several new content and effect partners. Pro Tools 2024.10 has updates that should excite music and post users.  Additionally, the release delivers MDI playlists workflows, clip drag-and-drop into virtual instruments, Dolby Atmos enhancements, and more.

Expanded ARA 2 Support

Post and music users should be excited to learn that Steinberg’s SpectraLayers and WaveLab plugins are now ARA 2 supported. This adds to the already growing list of audio editing solutions from companies like Celemony, iZotope, Sound Radix, and Synchro Arts. SpectraLayers and WaveLab ARA 2 support enables users to leverage their tools significantly faster and easier in Pro Tools eliminating the need to roundtrip audio files between separate applications.  For customers with active subscriptions or perpetual upgrade plans of Pro Tools Artist, Studio, or Ultimate will automatically receive Steinberg SpectraLayers Go and WaveLab Go as part of this release. Customers who already own full versions of SpectraLayers or WaveLab will automatically gain ARA 2 access in Pro Tools to the additional software features not included in the Go versions.

We Suggest

Pro Tools releases are increasingly stable these days, however there can still be minor issues so it’s always recommended to do a system backup prior to updating and  not performing the update mid-way through an important project. It’s also worth considering doing a co-install so you can easily roll back to your previous version.

There’s also an update to EuCon for all Avid S-Series Consoles, including Pro Tools Dock, S1, S3, S4 and S6. EuCon and EuControl 2024.10 includes tonnes of bug fixes, stability, speed, and workflow improvements.
