Scrub, a division of HHB specialising in post production, has supplied London’s LipSync Post with a 24-fader Avid S6 M10 console and Pro Tools upgrades.
Occupying two buildings on Wardour Street in the heart of Soho’s post community, LipSync provides every aspect of the post production process for film and television. LipSync prides itself on staying ahead of the technology curve, and as such, has chosen Scrub to configure and install an S6 M10 control surface with Pro Tools HDX and Version 11 software for Studio 6.
The S6 provides LipSync’s audio engineers with deep control of all the features in a Pro Tools session via a 12.1-inch multipoint touchscreen Master Touch Module. This is combined with powerful Automation, Fader, Knob and Process modules that deliver the fastest and most integrated control of a DAW session. Scrub’s technical team custom tailored the console layout to fit the workflow of LipSync’s engineers.
LipSync will also benefit from the new features added to the S6 in version 1.2 software, which further enhances the flexibility of layouts, VCA groups and the Softkey Editor, in addition to functions that enable editing directly from the Channel Strip.
LipSync Senior Re-Recording Mixer and Music Composer Rob Hughes comments:Â “When we came to update our desk in Studio 6, we wanted ultimate flexibility and integration with our Pro Tools HDX system. It’s a busy room that needs to serve as a mix studio for drama, short form and documentaries, as well as feeding work into our larger theatres and handling re-versioning and deliverables. The Avid S6 was our first choice and we’re delighted to be working with Scrub again. Their expertise is always invaluable in making the set up as fast and painless as possible.”
Head of Scrub Sales Ben Scully explains: “LipSync is one of Soho’s first post houses to take advantage of the innovative new features provided by S6 and Pro Tools. We installed the console in a configuration that is specific to Lipsync’s engineers with an extremely fast turnaround.”
Customers are invited to arrange an appointment to view the full features of HHB’s 24-channel S6 M40 demo control surface with an Avid specialist. Pro Tools, Nuendo and Logic are installed and available for demonstrations.”
