Recently the demand for Dolby Atmos has risen dramatically with an increased uptake of Dolby Atmos-compatible home theatre systems and soundbars whilst becoming a prerequisite when delivering content to major broadcasters.

Designed to empower post-production facilities to create, edit, mix and master high quality Dolby Atmos® content for Blu-ray, digital delivery, VR, Gaming and more, Dolby have created the Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite (DAMS) and Dolby Atmos Production Suite (DAPS). As the UK’s authorised re-seller of Dolby pro-audio products HHB can supply all the required technology and expertise to equip any facility to be Atmos ready.
Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite HE-RMU
HHB’s offering includes HE-RMU (Home Entertainment Rendering and Mastering Unit) assembly, installation and support. The dual Mac and PC support for DAMS allows the HE-RMU to be assembled and installed on either Dolby Approved Dell or Mac Pro hardware for mission-critical mastering workflows. HHB’s service also includes installation into the customer’s workflow and one day of on-site training. The Rendering and Mastering Workstation is supplied pre-configured, tested and complete with Dante I/O (Mac/PC) or MADI I/O (PC only) audio interface w/ timecode cards and Dolby Software.

Dolby Atmos Production Suite
The Dolby Atmos Production Suite, which supports Mac and PC is also available. DAPS allows all Avid Pro Tools sound editors, mixers, designers and VR content creators the opportunity to integrate Dolby Atmos into their workflow without the need of any additional hardware. The 2018 update’s addition of the Dolby Audio Bridge allows for support of up to 32 channels of I/O in Pro Tools when the audio bridge is used as a playback engine. Nuendo workflows are now supported.

The system features a brand-new “Renderer Remote Application” for control of the workstation from any compatible Mac or PC. A unified GUI streamlines DAPS and DAMS user’s workflows for configuration, metering, monitoring and mastering of Dolby Atmos content. The re-render output matrix now allows for up to 20 live re-renders and unlimited offline re-renders. Additional features include binaural metadata for headphone mixes and trim metadata for 7.1/5.1 down mix control, direct export to BWF ADM and support for mastering at 96kHz.
Dolby Atmos Certifications
Additionally, Dolby have introduced guidelines to give facilities certification for Home Entertainment Dolby Atmos mixing and mastering. Factors taken into consideration include room size, layout, loudspeaker and amplification specifications, room acoustics, mix and monitoring equipment Dolby Atmos delivers audio that can be precisely placed and moved anywhere in three-dimensional space.
