Designed for use in multi-channel digital audio production on a digital audio workstation and/or digital mixing console, the Surround Monitor Controller provides affordable stereo and 5.1 volume control, source and speaker management. The SMC can manage several input sources allowing, for instance, the comparing and monitoring of SACD or DVD material without the need to import all audio files and set up monitor mixes. In addition to the surround speaker set, a stereo pair can be connected to and managed by the SMC. A D-Sub input connector provides 6 surround and 2 stereo input channels. 8 additional phono connectors allow easy connection of SACD, DVD, CD and DAT players while a slave output allows the stereo or surround input signal to be routed directly to a recording device. Volume control is handled by a discrete 6-layer potentiometer and all switching functions by durable precision pushbuttons.
