HHB to host the UK debut of the latest broadcast pro audio products at BVE North

Broadcast audio technology specialists HHB Communications will host the UK debut of the newest products from the world’s leading broadcast pro audio manufacturers during the BVE North show (Stand 530) at Manchester Central on November 16th and 17th.

With representation from Scrub, its Soho-based subsidiary specialising in serving the post production industry, and located opposite the Show Bar, HHB will highlight new releases from Avid Pro Tools, Dolby, Genelec, Mogami, Olympus, Roland, RØDE, SoundField, Studio Technologies, TC Electronic and Wohler. And with an annual catalogue and a new website that comprise the largest and most comprehensive list of pro audio products for broadcasters and systems integrators, HHB’s stand will be the focal point for broadcast audio at BVE North.

Visitors are invited to enter a free draw to win an Olympus LS-3 Portable Audio Recorder by having their visitor badge scanned on the HHB booth, collect a free copy of the latest HHB Catalogue and talk with a product specialist.

HHB’s Director of Sales Martin O’Donnell states: “We are looking forward to introducing some truly unique pro audio product developments for the first time at BVE North. Products like the SoundField X-1 and Roland’s R-26 received very positive interest at IBC, and with so many new releases from our leading brands we have a lot to talk about.”

Among the product debuts will be Wohler’s new RMQ-230 Quad Split LCD video screen, the RMV16 Series of high quality multiviewer monitoring solutions and the iPad 2 version of Pandora. Also available for iPod Touch, Pandora provides a touch-screen version of the desktop loudness monitor with logging.

The latest in portable recording from Roland and Olympus will be displayed by HHB. Roland’s new R-26 is a professional portable recorder with dual stereo microphones and six-channel recording that captures up to 24-bit 96 kHz audio. The Olympus LS-20M is capable of capturing HD sound and video in a handheld format that provides features for multiple movie resolutions, including the 1080p .mov format. It records to an SDHC card and has an HDMI output.

Dolby’s new software for the DP600 Program Optimizer will also be on show. The new version provides full support of EBU R128 loudness, alongside features that enable 6 discrete .wav files from a Pro Tools 5.1 surround sound session to be automatically loudness corrected and transcoded five times faster than real-time.

Visitors to HHB’s stand will also have a chance to demo TC Electronic’s TouchMonitor TM9, a standalone loudness meter that features a 9” touchscreen and flexible layout options for stereo and multi-channel loudness and true-peak level metering.

HHB will unveil the new 3349 5.1ch Surround Microphone Cable from Japanese cable manufacturer Mogami, which features six balanced, individually shielded and jacketed cores inside a small overall diameter (9mm) cable that can handle temperatures down to -20˚C.

Debuted at IBC by HHB, SoundField’s X-1 Audio Upmix Downmix 1U Processor is a new innovative tool for 5.1 to stereo upmix and downmix that is housed in a compact 1U box. The X-1 utilises the same upmix algorithm as established in SoundField’s UPM-1 upmix processor, which is already highly regarded by many major broadcasters as an innovative and cost-saving solution for stereo to 5.1 upmix.
