HHB Communications and Scrub host numerous new product debuts from leading brands at IBC 2011

HHB Communications, global leaders in broadcast audio technology, is showing the latest and most innovative professional audio products to the world’s top broadcasters and systems integrators at IBC 2011.

Located in the entrance of Hall 8 on Stand 8.D56, with Scrub, its Soho-based subsidiary specialising in serving the post production industry, HHB is debuting important new product announcements from the likes of Dolby, Mogami, Olympus, PreSonus, Roland and Wohler.

Dolby

HHB is showing new Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer software at IBC. The updated version provides full support of EBU R128 loudness, alongside features that enable 6 discrete .wav files from a Pro Tools 5.1 surround sound session to be automatically loudness corrected and transcoded five times faster than real-time.

Mogami

The new 3349 5.1ch Surround Microphone Cable from Mogami will also be debuted by HHB at IBC. The new cable features six balanced, individually shielded and jacketed cores inside a small overall diameter (9mm) cable that can handle temperatures down to -20ËšC. Its extreme flexibility allows for easy handling and field work. The new 5.1ch cable is ideal for limited channels in a smaller format than Mogami’s standard multichannel snake cables and has been specifically designed for 5.1 channel surround recording microphones in collaboration with DPA microphones.

Olympus

Throughout the show visitors to the HHB stand are invited to enter a prize draw to win an Olympus LS-20M portable audio and HD video recorder. The LS-20M is capable of capturing HD sound and video in a handheld format that provides features for multiple movie resolutions, including the 1080p .mov format. The LS-20M records to an SDHC card and has an HDMI output.

PreSonus

HHB is introducing the PreSonus StudioLive 16.0.2 digital mixer to the broadcast community for the first time at IBC. The smallest of the StudioLive family, the 16.0.2 is a formidable mixer for its size that provides the same high standard of performance and audio quality as larger models in the range. It offers the seamless integration of software (including iPad remote control capability) into a compact and more affordable package. The new 16.0.2 mixer also offers a comprehensive feature set and a powerful engine in an easy-to-use format that employs the same workflow as all PreSonus StudioLive mixers. The 16-channel console features 8 mono input channels and 4 stereo channels and provides 12 XMAX Class A solid-state mic preamps.Â

Roland

HHB is launching the new Roland R-26 at IBC. The R-26 is a professional portable recorder with dual stereo microphones and two-channel recording that captures high-definition audio with natural room ambience. Featuring both omni and directional microphones, users can mix the mics together to achieve the optimum balance. The R-26 also provides XLR/TRS inputs for up to six channels (three stereo) of simultaneous recording. Roland’s proprietary IARC (Isolated Adaptive Recording Circuit) has been integrated in R-26’s inputs for the built-in mics and the external inputs. Its analog and digital circuits are completely isolated with individual power supplies to reduce digital noise and achieve extremely clear sound.

Wohler

HHB is making the debut of several new products with co-exhibitor Wohler at IBC. Wohler’s new RMQ-230 Quad Split LCD video screen and the RMV16 Series of high quality multiviewer monitoring solutions will be on show alongside the iPad 2 version of Pandora. Available for iPad 2 and iPod Touch, Pandora provides a touch-screen version of the desktop loudness monitor with logging. Pandora can be employed at any point in the broadcast chain that requires accurate loudness monitoring and provides the user with a precise reading of loudness measurements (LKFS/LUFS) over a user-defined period of time. An expanded line-up of Wohler’s captioning and ancillary data management products is also on show.

In addition to the HHB stand, the full range of Wohler equipment is also on demo in the Wohler Euro Van located outside in the OB area, Outside Exhibit 225.Â
