Studio equipment also includes the HHB CDR882 CD audio recorder and headphone distribution. The cable looms are specified to provide microphone and return tie-lines between the control room and two live studios. An Apple MacPro computer with two 20" Cinema displays is also included. Control Room equipment is installed in AKA Design furniture with 30U of equipment racking including a computer rack with a glazed door to reduce fan noise levels. Typically this equipment can be installed by HHB technical tean within three days, this service together with initial operator training is included in the package price. The key Digidesign and Apple components are covered by three year warranty contract that also include telephone support services. Additional training and Digidesign course books are also included. There are many reasons for a school or college to decide that the D-Command ES package is the most suitable system for their recording studio. This system provides total recall of all required parameters, so minimising set up time (particularly useful when students have limited access to the studio). In addition, compared to the C24, the D-Command ES's expanded set of controllers allows more functions to the mapped to knobs and switches, increasing working speed. Audio interfacing is handled by Digidesign's higher specification converters (Mic Pres and 192 I/O), regarded to be amongst the best sounding converters available. Finally the D-Command ES package is supplied with ProTools HD3 which has 50% more processor power than ProTools HD2, relating to greater track counts, more plug-in processors and soft-synths.
