Royal College of Music purchases Pro Tools HD2

HHB is Pro Tools supplier of choice for British colleges and universities

Recent sales of Pro Tools systems to leading educational establishments including the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the Royal College of Music, the University of Wales and Falmouth College of Arts have further cemented HHB’s position as the UK’s leading supplier of Digidesign products to the education sector.

Recognising HHB’s unique combination of experience and technical expertise, the Guildhall School’s AV Manager Dave Foister contacted HHB Education Sales Manager Andrew Hingley to discuss a major upgrade to the school’s in-house recording facility. With a new Pro Tools HD2 system and Control 24 now successfully installed, Foister reports: “The increased flexibility is fantastic. We can now handle multiple sessions every day, and the studio is a much more productive resource for the students. As ever, HHB were very helpful throughout the process and were able to provide everything we needed.”

Across London at the Royal College of Music, Recording Engineer Avgoustos Psillas needed to ensure that students could record course work in a process that reflects the realities of the commercial recording studio and, once again, HHB helped to configure an HD2 system. “Pro Tools is essential, particularly for our Film Music courses,” comments Psillas. “The functionality of the new system is exceptional and we got great service from HHB.”

At the University of Wales, Bangor, Dr Andrew Lewis took advantage of Digidesign’s Hardware Exchange Programme to update an old Pro Tools Mix 3 to a new HD2 system, configured on a G5 and delivered by Apple Solutions Expert HHB. And HHB has assisted Falmouth College’s upgrade to ProTools HD, while also supplying a new Control 24.

Commenting for HHB, Education Sales Manager Andrew Hingley said, “At HHB, we work with our education customers to identify their needs, understand their goals and specify systems that maximise the utilisation of resources. And with Europe’s largest independent pro-audio technical facility on-site, we’re able to offer a level of support that ensures the ongoing value of their investment.”
