Hey Guys,
I've started a series at Sony Studios and again we're dealing with another post house using their variations of TC, and their DV40's having trouble reading file depth. The file depth is caused by changing inputs with new set-ups. This issue was touched on a few months ago and still creates problems in post. We really need to find a solution for this. A mixer who's required to use UDF still needs that flexibility without creating problems down the road. Paradoxically, the producers/post houses ask for their usual mono trk (supplied by my 702T) and a multi-track iso configuration (supplied by the Portadrive) that their non-updated DV40's can't read. Deva users are in the same boat with other issues. Speaking to other mixers, it now seems that no matter what recorder you use those first days are rittled with compatability problems.
Take Care,

Hi Craig,
The changes we talked about to allow Portadrive to ONLY mirror your stereo or mono mix tracks to the DVD-RAM (leaving iso plus mix tracks on your hardrive) are ongoing and you'll be the first to know when we have something to show you.
Post houses really need to update to the latest DV40 software - it's been out for nearly a year now!
Speak to you soon I'm sure,
Regards,
Simon |
