HHB appoints Syntec Australia and New Zealand |
Leading pro audio manufacturer HHB has appointed Syntec as exclusive distributor of its products in Australia and New Zealand with immediate effect. The move comes at a time when HHB has announced important new products including the UDP-89 Professional Universal DVD/CD Player and CDR-882 DualBurn CD Recorder, and as the company ships its 10,000th FlashMic Digital Recording Microphone – now established as the recorder of choice for leading broadcasters and news organisations worldwide. Established some 35 years ago, Syntec has grown to become one of the leading audio technology distributors in the region, employing 44 people and occupying offices in Australia and New Zealand. Representing a prestigious list of professional brands including Sennheiser, Tannoy, Eventide, Bryston, Rycote, Orban and Dolby, the company is equally active in the consumer audio sector where the popularity Sennheiser products has helped to make Syntec the leading supplier of headphones in Australia. Prior to taking over the company founded by his father, Syntec Managing Director Bob Sloss was a sound recordist, making an involvement with HHB at some stage almost inevitable. “We’ve known Ian (Jones, HHB Managing Director) for many years and have admired what HHB has achieved with its location recording products,” comments Bob. “When the FlashMic came along we just had to get involved, and we’re equally excited about the UDP-89 and CDR-882 DualBurn.” Representing HHB products in Australia and New Zealand also puts Syntec back in the recording media business. “We did good business with Ampex and we’re delighted to be back in that market with HHB Professional Recording Media,” continues Bob. “Demand for professional, high-performance media remains strong here and we’re looking forward to providing our professional customers with disc- and tape-based media they can really depend on.” Speaking on behalf of HHB, Managing Director Ian Jones says, “It makes a lot of sense to consolidate our distribution in Australia and New Zealand and Syntec was the obvious choice. In terms of product range, philosophy and even company history, there’s a lot of synergy between us.” Editors' information: Founded in 1976, HHB Communications is Europe's leading supplier of professional audio equipment to the broadcast sector, post production facilities, recording studios, film and TV sound recordists, and industrial and education establishments.
