LAS VEGAS, April 10, 2000-HHB's Radius 3 Fat Man is the latest addition to the company's hot-sounding Radius range of tube processors, delivering top-quality HHB stereo tube compression at an affordable low price of $469.
The Fat Man makes adding real tube warmth to recording and live sound applications easy by offering 15 pre-set compression programs, created in conjunction with leading audio engineers including Pink Floyd's Andy Jackson. The pre-sets include optimum compression settings for vocals, keyboards, bass, acoustic and electric guitars, snare, kick and whole drum kits and pop, rock and dance mixes, making the Fat Man a very user-friendly tube compressor.
The HHB Fat Man is ideal for those who prefer to control their own dynamics processing. In manual mode, threshold, ratio, attack, release and knee controls become fully variable, while input/output gains and gain make-up remain variable at all times. A bypass switch is provided to compare compressed and direct signals and a vintage-style VU meter can be switched to meter output level or the amount of gain reduction.
In addition to line inputs and outputs, the Fat Man also features front panel instrument inputs for the direct injection of guitars, basses and keyboards.
"Now, musicians and engineers on a budget can create exciting, professional mixes with full control over their dynamics," says David Beesley, president of HHB Communications USA, on the launch of the new processor. "Real tube warmth and presence make the Fat Man ideal for use with digital recording systems. Stereo tube compression just doesn't come any fatter, easier to use or more affordable than the new HHB Fat Man."
