Leading professional audio supplier HHB Communications and its specialist post-production division Scrub come together on Stand 8.554 to create the focal point for audio technology at IBC. Visit the IBC website.
With 5.1 channel surround sound forming an essential component of the HDTV experience, HHB and Scrub have amassed the experience, knowledge and product portfolio necessary to assist broadcasters and in selecting the appropriate tools for the creation, management and delivery of multi-channel audio. Specialists from HHB and Scrub will be available throughout the exhibition to share information with visiting delegates, and to demonstrate selected products from Apple, Digidesign, Dolby, Dynaudio, Fostex, Genelec, Lynx, Neumann, Panorama, Presonus, Roland, Rosendahl, RØDE, Tannoy, Tascam, TC Electronic, Universal Audio, Wohler and Yamaha.
HHB’s own FlashMic Digital Recording Microphone is now standard issue to journalists from a fast-growing list of broadcasters that already includes the BBC World Service, WDR, ORF, Aljazeera, BSkyB, Radio France, NRK Norway and NHK Tokyo. Unveiled at IBC is the DRM85-C a cardioid version of the FlashMic which shares features with the existing DRM85 omni-directional model including 1GB Flash memory for over 18 hours recording, USB audio data transfer, a high quality preamplifier with full manual or automatic gain control (AGC), an illuminated LCD display and 9 user templates which can be configured externally using the FlashMic Manager software supplied (Mac/PC).
Another HHB innovation on show at IBC is PORTADRIVE, the groundbreaking location sound recorder that combines 8-channel 24-bit/96kHz hard disk recording with built-in mixing, sophisticated timecode facilities and enhanced workflow features.
Performance, dependability and compatibility with a wide range of audio and video recording hardware have helped to make HHB Professional Recording Media the choice broadcasters and post-production facilities worldwide. The HHB range now encompasses all popular disc and tape formats, and can be purchased on-line at www.hhb.co.uk .
Finally IBC visitors should be sure to stop by the HHB Stand to collect their free copy of the HHB Catalogue 2007/08. Hot off the press and considered by many broadcasters to be the essential guide to everything that’s important in audio technology, The Catalogue covers 168 pages and includes information on more that 1200 professional audio products from microphones to multi-channel processors.
“The continuing growth of HDTV makes this an exciting time for the professional audio industry,” comments Managing Director Ian Jones. "And the runaway success of our own FlashMic makes this a particularly exciting time for HHB. We’re looking forward to a successful IBC and to meeting our many broadcast customers from around the world.”
